The purpose of the Oroville Union High School District Hall of Fame is to recognize Oroville Union High School District graduates, employees, and major contributors who have distinguished themselves by their individual contributions in scholarship, athletics, Associated Student Body (ASB) activities, career, community service, and/or society as a whole. The permanent honor of being elected to the OUHSD Hall of Fame will represent individuals who, through their individual actions, have contributed to the established vision of the District. Alumni - A student athlete, scholar or ASB activity participant becomes eligible for nomination twenty (20) years after graduating from any OUHSD school. Students who were drafted or enlisted in the military before graduation are considered alumni. A graduate must have earned individual recognition at a district school by his/her scholastic achievements, athletic accomplishments, ASB activities, or community service; must have earned individual recognition after graduation by his/her postsecondary scholastic achievements, athletic accomplishments, career/professional accomplishments, military service, or community service; and had exemplary life of community service and good character reflecting credit to the person, the school, and society must have followed the student after graduation. Employees - A former employee becomes eligible for nomination five (5) years after retiring from OUHSD. Eligible candidates must have evidence of an outstanding career within the OUHSD. He/she must have had a direct and significant impact on high school scholastics, athletics, or other student centered activities. He/she must have had an exemplary life of community service and good character reflecting credit to the person, the school, and society. Distinguished Service Inductee – The nominee may: 1) have graduated or not graduated from an OUHSD school; 2) be a local citizen or business person; 3) have been a former employee of the OUHSD. The nominee MUST have made extraordinary contributions to the OUHSD resulting in significant benefit or exceptional honor to the District or one of its schools. |
